Ohio Chapter of the American Fisheries Society held it's annual meeting in conjunction with the Ohio Aquaculture Association on 26–27 January 2018 at the Quest Conference Center in Columbus, Ohio (map).
Here are the 2018 Annual Meeting minutes
The meeting included a joint-association Plenary Session on Friday morning focusing on aquatic invasive species and the related concerns of fisheries managers and private aquaculture with a special emphasis on grass carp. The days breakout sessions pertained to aquaculture in the private sector as well as hatchery and management practices at the agency level. Friday evening featured a fisheries poster social and a sit-down banquet featuring a nationally renowned keynote speaker addressing the topic of strengthening associations—a topic very relevant in our era of partnerships. Saturday morning featured a joint session merging the private and public considerations of the Lake Erie Yellow Perch population status as well as jointly relevant information about Harmful Algal Blooms.
